Plan Norway is one of 17 donor countries in Plan, one of the oldest and largest international developmental agencies in the world. When planning their biggest online campaign to date, Divensis was brought in early in the process.
The campaign's mission was to put focus on girls and their current situation in some parts of the world. As it turns out, girls in developing countries draw the shortest straw in most aspects of life, and is often victim of abuse and discrimination. Where people suffer, girls suffer most.
The campaign's primary mission was to bring this to the attention of people's minds. Gjermund(Divensis) & Johan Bakken(Mesén) worked closely with Plan's in-house team during the months before the campaign to nail the concept and design.
The final idea was a site where you could upload your photo and thereby give the campaign a face. Once uploaded, your face appeared on the campaign site together with every other contributor, sliding across the screen. You were also offered a pink version of your photo in return, as well as a range of possibilities to spread the word through social networks like Facebook & Twitter.
The campaign turned out a huge success upon launch. Pink profile photos started popping up, and the amount of people contributing surpassed our own expectations by far. When the campaign period ended, over 120 000 people had contributed by uploading their face.
